Silvers at APPA

June 7th, 2010

.

Bec and Karl are over the moon with our results from the Australian Professional Photography Awards, held in Melbourne over the weekend.

These two images were both entered into the “Wedding Photojournalism” category, and both picked up Silver awards. Couldn’t be happier !!

.

Thanks Taryn for leaving your veil in such an awesome position in the back room with the lights down low. Very thoughtful :)

.

And thanks to the M5 motorway for delaying Katherine on the way to her ceremony. Michael was left waiting (very photogenically) at the door at the church, in the right light :)

The Big Expo

June 7th, 2010

It seems the last few months have been spent focusing our efforts on the Australian Bridal Service’s Wedding Expo, which was held last weekend at Fox Studios in Sydney. We booked a stand a while back, after being on the waiting list for a while. Our big chance had arrived to show our stuff at one of Sydney’s biggest bridal expos.

And this was our stand – what a beauty !!

It was great to see so many Bride-to-be’s out with their Mum or their friends. Bec had a great weekend chatting to them about our photography and our albums.

We used the expo to launch our newest range of Hand Crafted “Storybook Series” of albums. Here are the three example albums we had on the stand.

The Calligraphy Album

The Classic Album

The Contemporary Album

The Smartest Expo Stand Ever

A chance meeting in April put us in touch with possibly the world’s most talented designers and expo stand builders ever.

After our initial chat on the phone about what we were after, Vici and John at Studio Fourteen turned immediately to the same page that we were on, and conceptualised the most perfect stand for us.

As you can see, it really suited our style of photography and ourselves individually – Great work Vici and John.

Here they are tired and hungry but still smiling on Friday night after building the stand.

Rachel and Ashley

May 17th, 2010

Super cars, super bride and groom, and super bridal party !

After some car dramas early in the day, Rachel and Ashley were married in a touching ceremony in glorious conditions at Eschol Park House. The bridal party knew how to have a good time, and after a brief photo session the evening got started and all the guests joined the fun.

The night’s photos ended under the harbour bridge as Ashley surprised Rachel with a night at the Sebel Pier One. What a great husband Ashley !

Corrine and Saku

May 14th, 2010

A beautiful autumn day in Sydney, and Saku was ready to get married.

The weblink to Finland was up and running, Corrine was on her way, and the taxis bringing the Finnish guests finally arrived. Saku was pacing off his last remaining nerves, and all that was left was to have a gorgeous wedding.

We were not disappointed.

Bec and Brad

April 21st, 2010

The Shire turned on a beautiful day for Bec and Brad and their guests.

Brad’s family were all here from Canada, and those that couldn’t make it were no doubt watching the live web stream of the proceedings thanks to the good old iPhone.

The ceremony overlooking Port Hacking was MAGNIFICENT (so is that word), and then a stroll through the park as the sun went down.

Bec and Brad’s bridal team were super relaxed, and before we could say “do your own thing team” they were shoes off and in the water.

Summersalt restaurant on the beach knows how to put on a party, and after a beautiful dinner, the night only got better and better.

Love that shot of Bec dancing with her father.

Leah and Stuart

April 1st, 2010

Leah and Stuart had their perfect wedding day.

The day – warm, St Marks church – stunning as ever, the bells – awesome, Parsley Bay – beautiful, Catalina’s – ultra cool, and the sun setting over Sydney – perfect.

Well almost perfect – Stuart’s pelicans didn’t show up !

RPA Babies

March 20th, 2010

We recently had the opportunity to hang some of our images on the walls of the Royal Prince Alfred Hospital maternity ward.

So we rushed out and had these five images printed and framed.

Starting with this cutie…

These two above and below are on the walls as you enter the maternity ward.

Love these little hands,

and little feet,

and the effort that goes into a little  sleep.

Thanks to the staff at RPA Level 8 maternity ward for the chance to display our work, and we hope you enjoy the images.
